David McKenzie and Michael Long have claimed a shared victory at the 2025 Gardiners Run Legends Pro-Am, showcasing stellar putting performances that saw both players finish with impressive rounds of 7-under 65.
Both McKenzie and Long, seasoned veterans on the international seniors’ tours, were quick to praise the quality of the Gardiners Run Golf Course, particularly the superb putting surfaces that played a pivotal role in their success. The smooth and fast greens allowed for exceptional putting displays from both players, ultimately helping them secure the top spot.
McKenzie, who played alongside the course superintendent, attributed his victory to maintaining a steady and measured approach throughout his round. “I just focused on not doing anything stupid,” he said, reflecting on his composed performance.
Finishing three shots behind the winners was Tim Elliott, who carded a 68 for a solid third-place finish. In a tight battle for the next spots, a four-way tie for fourth emerged between Mark Sheppard, Brad Burns, Brendan Chant, and Richard Backwell, each of whom finished with a score of 69.
The event proved to be a thrilling contest, highlighting both the skill of the players and the excellence of the Gardiners Run Golf Course, leaving players eagerly anticipating next year’s edition of the tournament.
